Neurodiversity as
Strength
Framework for the Delivery of Special Education via Distance Learning
This framework has been created to outline the means by which California Creative Learning Academy will support the learning needs of all students, including students with neuro-diverse & learning differences who receive protections and educationally related services via their Section 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- At CalCreative Learning Academy, our vision is to create an inclusive learning environment where students of all abilities are able to engage fully in their learning. Our commitment to special education and inclusion means fostering a culture of acceptance, respect, and support within our general education setting. We strive to create a dynamic, inclusive community where diverse learners thrive together, leveraging their unique strengths and perspectives.
- CalCreative provides a variety of special education services, including educationally related mental health services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, adaptive physical education, speech and language therapy, and other related services to meet the diverse needs of students in our special education program. Our special education teachers, general education teachers, and special education aides work collaboratively to differentiate instruction and provide modifications and accommodations as needed.
- By embracing individualized learning approaches, universally accessible supports, and promoting collaborative practices, we aim to ensure that all students have equitable access to high-quality education, meaningful participation, and opportunities for success. Our goal is to build a school where inclusivity is woven into the fabric of our daily practices, celebrating every student’s journey and cultivating a future where diversity is not only acknowledged, but celebrated.
