The health crisis created by COVID-19 challenged our school and our community in ways we had never anticipated. To help us prepare for the uncertainties, we created Next Stage Planning group to analyze our school’s needs, as well as the recommendations from public health agencies, and to plan accordingly for all scenarios, and to be able to implement any of them as the context changes.

To be responsive to the needs of our community, we collected survey data from students, parents, and staff. The findings from surveys and meetings helped us to identify the key concerns people had for distance learning as well as for returning to on-site learning. CalCreative also held community meetings where we were able to hear parents’ questions and concerns, as well as providing updates on our plans.
