“You are my other me” embodies CalCreative’s mission to build a community where our students, staff and families understand themselves, value diversity, seek justice, and act to build a just, equitable, and inclusive world.

By embracing our diversity, learning styles, and multiple perspectives, our community progresses into the challenging and essential work of dismantling conventional power structures that promote intolerance such as racism, xenophobia, bigotry, sexism, ableism, colonial mindset, and white supremacy.

Through the use of collaborative tools such as arts integration, inquiry-based projects, civic engagement, social emotional learning, culturally responsive curriculum, anti-bias work, and creativity, we will hold ourselves accountable as we learn from each other to thrive individually and interpersonally.

We are mindful that people have their own life experiences, and by respecting our unique experiences each of us brings to our whole, we create a meaningful impact on ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
